About Sports Fit Academy Group
We are a Purpose-driven Social Enterprise
Sports Fit Academy Group is a youth-led, social enterprise founded in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic’s devastating impact on children’s mental health, physical wellbeing, and educational access. Born out of a deep desire to give back to our community in South B, Nairobi, we began by offering free football sessions, mentorship, and mental health support to local children- both boys and girls—aged 7 to 18.
In 2021, we became officially registered and launched formal operations through the support of a World Bank Youth Grant awarded to innovative Kenyan youth initiatives with strong community potential. This pivotal support helped us grow from a grassroots idea into a structured organization that uses football as a tool for education, inclusion, and social change.
Our unique model blends the passion of sport with the heart of service. While we operate partially on a revenue-generating basis (with approximately 30% of our clients able to pay), our core model is a Community Enterprise Model, which supports youth from underserved or vulnerable backgrounds who receive subsidized or free access to our programs.
As a social enterprise, we sustain our mission through football programming, merchandise sales (jerseys, hoodies, bottles, caps), and continuous community partnerships. Every shilling earned is reinvested into our core activities: inclusive sport, child mentorship, health education, nutrition support, and environmental advocacy.
Today, Sports Fit Academy has directly impacted over 3,000 children and continues to expand its footprint across Nairobi and Mombasa. We remain committed to the belief that every child- regardless of gender, background, or ability- deserves a safe space to play, grow, and thrive.
Mission
